1995 Helvetia Franc

1995 B Helvetia Franc Coin

Ever find a 1995 Helvetia Franc in pocket change?  It’s a foreign coin found in a collection of foreign coins.   Furthermore, Helvetia is said to be the female personification of Switzerland.

Moreover, it’s a well-circulated coin.  However, the details of it are strong.   For instance, a die chip displays within the crown.  However, if it’s a mint error or from circulation is hard to tell.

Furthermore, the circulated condition of this Helvetia coin reduces value.  I imagine a unique story about how it made its way to America.  Perhaps with a traveling coin collector?  Have you come across a 1995 B Helvetia Franc in your change?

Furthermore, Helvetia is the Roman name for an ancient region of central Europe that occupied a plateau between the Alps and Jura Mountains.  Moreover, it corresponded to the western part of modern Switzerland, and the name is still used poetically.  Additionally, Helvetia is actually a real Latin language name of the country, given to it in ancient times.

Finally, a Helvetia Franc is worth a dollar and up in mint state condition. Moreover, while it’s not legal currency in the US, it’s an interesting foreign coin to have in any collection.   Click here to check out US Coins under the microscope.
