2021 Morgan Dollars Overloaded the U.S. Mint Website

First, “collectors experienced difficulty while ordering the privy-marked examples of the limited-edition 2021 Morgan dollars.  For instance, after the window to pre-order opened on May 24th, a massive traffic overload to the website prevented many orders from being completed.  Furthermore, it forced the nation’s coin bureau to delay the release of three additional 2021 Morgan dollars and a single 2021 Peace dollar.” – Coinworld.com

Additionally, “the extraordinary volume of web traffic during the first pre-order window for the 2021 Morgan Dollars with Carson City privy mark (21XC) and New Orleans privy mark (21XD), lead to the postponing of the pre-order windows for the remaining 2021 Morgan and Peace Dollars.  However, that hasn’t stopped people from doing their bidding of listing them online.

Moreover, the desirability of these coins to the masses was clearly underestimated, because even the phone lines were affected.  The 2021 Morgan Dollars sold out in minutes!

Morgan Dollar Die Varieties

Furthermore, “VAM is an acronym for “Van Allen-Mallis.”  “The goal of VAM was to number and catalog every known die variety by date and mint mark.  This definition means every Morgan and Peace Dollar is already or should be a VAM.” – Money.org

“Wide Reeding” Morgan Dollar Variety

A Morgan Dollar with wide reeding is called the wide reed variety.  There are 157 reeds on this variety coin.  The other coins have 189 reeds.  The collar die that made the differing reeding is rare to the Morgan dollar series.  Numismatists think it may have been an experimental die.” – The Society of Silver Dollar Collectors

Buying & Selling Coins

Buying, Selling, & Pawning Coins

When it comes to buying, selling, & pawning coins, be honest about your motive.  Recently someone reached out to me with a very common question, asking “Do you buy coins?”  The were looking to get money now.  When I’m not interested, I link them to other options.

Moreover, I primarily partake in coin roll hunting, examining, and gathering research to write about the coin I’ve found.  However, that’s not to say you can’t easily earn and make quick cash fast by selling coins online.

Building Relationships

Connecting or linking people seeking answers about selling their coins to genuine coin dealers on the web, enabled me to build and keep a helpful rapport.  If you go into this niche or any other, always mind your manners.  Thus far, the best advice I’ve been given is that it’s best in the long term to build relationships with others in the industry.  Furthermore, get your coins seen by as many eyes as possible for more than one opinion.  That’s the concept of networking.

Buying & Selling Coins

Additionally, any seeking to sell coins online should keyword search “how to sell coins online” read, learn, and apply!  Links to Amazon, or Ebay, and other websites not advertised are resourceful informational guides.  Furthermore, checking the sold listings of any coin using descriptive details of each coin, will give you an idea of current market values of any coin.

Additionally, coins that are graded and slabbed are able to be consigned with companies like Heritage Auctions, Great Collections, PCGS, or Stacks & Bowers.  Do a keyword search of “coin auctions near me,” and your search engine browser will link you to whatever is closest to your location.   Additionally, auction companies such as Great Collections  offer instant cash advances, and will front money for  raw and graded coins.

Furthermore, joining buy, sell, or trade groups enables coin collectors and dealers to connect with each other.  As long as you’re honest, it’s an easy way to make money online, because coins are just some of the many different items to sell online.  Build your reputation to gain success!

Coin Investing

Additionally, some list their coins for sale directly through coin groups. However, it’s important to be cautious and practice safety first when dealing with strangers you interact with online.  Do not settle for exchanging in just any public place.  If you do go that route, always meet at your local police station or nearest coin show.  Furthermore, if doing business by mail, then buy insurance on your package at the post office.  Protect your item because it is your product.

Why Join Coin Communities Or Web Forums Online

Coin communities or  forums about coins are great to be aware of, not only because you  can get answers to your questions by people who are experts in the industry, which can save you a lot of money in the long run, but also because it can become an easy way to make money online uploading images to Ebay and selling coins with your smartphone.

Additionally, many groups are created by legitimate coin shop dealers. Moreover,  they enable you to list your to sell or trade too.  However, remember that manners matter, so obey the rules.  You don’t want to get booted from any coin community.

Pawning Coins

Maybe you’re a coin collector who doesn’t wish to sell your coin collection at all, but may endure a situation when you need money fast.  These collectors are bright and prefer the option of pawning their coins instead of outright selling them.  This option buys them time while helping them deal with any cash related emergencies.

“A huge appeal to pawning something is the fact that you get your money almost immediately. There’s no wait, you don’t have to list or advertise, and you leave with cash in hand.”    This is the option when you know what you’ve got and need to get cash now.   Another option to get money quickly is to apply for a loan online.

Furthermore, I became a fan of coin roll hunting after the West Point Mint quarters release.  The Great American Coin Hunt not only attracted my attention but that of a new generation of collectors.

2019 W Lincoln Cent Collectible Coin

2019 W Lincoln Cent Special Edition Proof Coin

A 2019 w Lincoln cent special edition proof coin is unlikely to be found in circulation.  W mint mark pennies were unique collectible coins made available in 2019 mint sets.  For example, like the rare 2000 Native American Dollar in Cheerios cereal boxes

Furthermore, 2019 W Lincoln cent proofs are registry coins.  However, the U.S. Mint made a mistake and sold ninety one West Point Mint pennies individually.” – coinworld.com

Moreover, if you come across a 2019-w penny, observe and examine it for errors and varieties.   West Point Mint collectible shield cents are already rare, but being an error or variety makes a coin even more scarce.

Furthermore, only 629,342 w proof Lincoln shield cents were produced.  This makes them extremely rare coins, belonging to less than a million collectors.  In other words, do not underestimate value potential.

Furthermore, the mint made history by striking the first Lincoln cents bearing the w mint mark.  Moreover, w pennies raked in nice profits in the marketplace.  For instance, “coin dealers started selling each of the three 2019 W Lincoln cents for up to $25.00 each” –  coinnews.net

2019 W Shield Cent Types

Additionally, there are three types of w pennies.  First, the proof penny came with the proof set.  Second, the reverse proof came with the silver proof set, and finally, the business strike w penny came with the uncirculated set. – coinvalues.com

2019 W Shield Cent Values

Furthermore, values of 2019-w cents depend on the condition of each coin.  The lowest population of the highest mint state grades are the most valuable.  Moreover, this refers to professionally graded encapsulated coins.  In other words, the most pristine pennies are the most valuable.

For instance, a 2019-W 1C Shield Cent, graded MS70 RD, sold for $3,606.00.  Furthermore, a 2019-W 1C Shield, DCAM (Proof) graded PR70DCAM, sold for $467.00.  Additionally, a 2019-W 1C Shield – Reverse Proof First Strike (Proof) graded PR70 RD, sold for $300.00.

Again, it’s highly unlikely to find a special edition w proof coin in circulation.  However, it’s not impossible.  People unaware of the numismatic value of coins unwittingly spend them.  That’s why it’s important to pay attention to pocket change.

If you do find a 2019-w Lincoln cent, then look closely for errors and varieties.  2019 w pennies in raw condition are available to bid on and/or purchased directly from coin dealers online.  For instance, keep an eye open for listings on Ebay.
