2020 P Weir Farm Connecticut Quarter Doubled Die Reverse Coins

2020 P Weir Farm Connecticut quarter doubled die varieties and errors exist!  For instance, I bought original mint wrapped uncirculated rolls directly from the United States Mint to search through for rare quarter errors and varieties.

Proof-Like Quarters

Satin finish coins have a different appearance than proof, proof-like, or business strike coins. Moreover, satin finish coins aren’t reflective or mirror-like. Additionally, satin finish coins are struck on special sandblasted or burnished planchets.

Compare the difference between the glossy appearance of a satin finish strike and a normal business strike finish as an example using the examination of a 2020 W Weir Farm Quarter found while coin roll hunting.

Some say the United States Mint no longer produces satin finish quarters, and hasn’t since 2010.  Could they’ve produced satin finish 2020 quarters by mistake?

2019 American Memorial Park quarter errors and varieties are collectible coins, especially the w quarters!   For instance, this 2019 W national park quarter appears to display a struck through error.  Observe the arrows noting the struck-through error displaying on the flag in the image below.

Furthermore, markings on the girl’s face are from other coins clanking against it.  In other words, that part is post mint damage.  However, it’s still a collectible specimen, as there were only two million 2019 W Northern Mariana Islands quarters minted.

West Point quarters went into circulation to kick off  The Great American Coin Hunt.  Furthermore, the West Point Mint quarters program began in 2019, and didn’t end until 2020.  Moreover, as a result of this tactic it attracted more coin collectors around the globe to the coin hobby.

The U.S. Mint produced approximately 1% of the total circulating quarters at West Point, making the “W” mint mark quarters the first of its kind. – usmint.gov.  In total, a maximum of only 10 million West Point Mint quarters went into circulation to be found by coin collectors.

Moreover, w quarter dollars don’t have to be an error or variety coin to be valuable. For instance, a 2019-W 25C American Memorial National Park quarter graded MS68, sold for $3000.00.  Furthermore, a 2019-S 25C American Memorial America the Beautiful National Park quarter graded MS68, sold for $2000.00.

Moreover, a 2019-D 25C American Memorial NP quarter graded MS69, sold for $920.00.  Additionally, a 2019-P 25C American Memorial NP quarter discovery coin graded MS65, sold at auction for $50,000.

According to chats via coincommunity.com, a doubled die reverse exists.  Furthermore, it looks like an extra step on the memorial of a 2019 D American Memorial Park quarter.

Furthermore, this 2021 quarter may not seem like a sought-after rarity, however, it’s already a notable collectible coin for its  one-year type design, featuring Flanagan’s bust at full size for the first time in more than 20 years.

People say it’s a one year type, but there’s millions and millions of them, so they can’t be rare.  However, others are aware of the additional value mint state grade errors and varieties bring.  

Furthermore, these unique coin specimens make collections even rarer, especially those that obtain the highest grades.  Moreover, the wear and tear of circulation reduces grades.  For instance, populations of the higher grades dwindle down over time, and sometimes sooner than later.

Furthermore, those 2021 quarters gained their value based on their high grade condition.  The best chance of finding high mint state grades is by searching uncirculated 2021 original wrapped quarter rolls.  Additionally, examining 2021 mint sets ensures a mint state grade specimen.

Searching through rolls of coins for errors and varieties is a pastime for patient people.  It’s very rewarding in far more ways than just monetary. 

Whether searching through new coins, or metal detecting for the lost and buried ones, it’s an honorable endeavor to pursue by anyone. Don’t knock the king of hobbies.  Coin collecting is the hobby of kings.  Coinage tells stories of human history throughout the world as collectible works of art.
