Machine doubled coins aren’t considered valuable by some numismatists.  However, that doesn’t mean there isn’t a market for them.  Furthermore, as long as you upload clear images, and give an honest depiction in the description when you list your coin for sale online, you may potentially profit.

Moreover, coin collectors collect specific types of coins.  For instance, doubled die obverse and reverse variety coins.   Furthermore, coins with, clipped planchets, and struck through errors, are the most commonly searched for.  Machine doubled coins are not only easier to find, but also inexpensive to own.

Additionally, some people insist that machine doubled coins have no additional value, and call it “worthless doubling.”  However, the buy, sell, or trade online marketplaces indicate they’re neat collectibles.  

Furthermore, if you choose to list your coin for sale online, then be realistic with your pricing.  For instance, a quarter like this can fetch a few dollars.   Additionally, die deterioration doubling or DDD, takes place as a result of die wear.  They do sell on Ebay for more than face value.

The Willy Wonka-type stunt, sponsored by the American Numismatic Association (ANA),  was the biggest rare coin drop in American history.  Moreover, it was for the purpose of sparking interest among a new generations of coin collectors.  Furthermore, it worked on me.   For instance, check out this rare 2020 W Weir Farm quarter with a reverse die crack.

For instance, a 1994 D Washington quarter graded MS67, sold at auction for $1500.00.   Additionally, a 1994 P Washington quarter graded MS63, sold at auction for $864.00.   In other words, investing in coins is as promising today as the opportunity exists.

Machine Doubled Coins Popular Among Youth Collectors

Younger generations developing an interest in the coin collecting hobby are likely to start out with the unique coins found at hand.  The first coin in my collection was a machined doubled quarter.  What about yours?  Ever heard of the “1955 poor man’s doubled die?”  Everybody has to start somewhere.  Happy hunting!
